- Billing information: payment method details processed securely through Stripe. We do not store full credit card numbers on our servers.
- Publication data: content, images, subscriber lists, and settings associated with your Ghost publications hosted on Chloe.
- Usage data: IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, and interactions with our platform collected via server logs and analytics.
- Communications: information you provide when contacting our support team.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provision, maintain, and improve your Ghost hosting instances.
- Process payments and manage your subscription.
- Send transactional emails (account confirmations, billing receipts, service alerts).
- Provide customer support and respond to inquiries.
- Monitor platform performance, security, and uptime.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your publication content for advertising purposes.
3. Data Storage & Security
Your data is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) infrastructure in the United States. We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- Encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256 via AWS KMS).
- Network isolation using Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs) with private subnets.
- Regular automated backups of all databases and media storage.
- Role-based access controls and audit logging for internal systems.
- Regular security reviews and vulnerability assessments.
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services to operate Chloe. Each processes data in accordance with their own privacy policies:
- Stripe: payment processing. Stripe handles and stores your payment information securely under PCI DSS compliance.
- Amazon Web Services (AWS): cloud infrastructure, including compute, databases, storage, and email delivery (SES).
- Cloudflare: content delivery network (CDN), DDoS protection, and SSL certificate management for custom domains.
5. Cookies
Chloe uses cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes:

- Publication content and media are deleted within 30 days of account termination unless you request an export.
- Billing records are retained for 7 years to comply with tax and accounting regulations.
- Server logs are retained for up to 90 days for security and debugging purposes.
